Trout for Dinner!
Yee-haa! Finally the Evans Ohau Canal drought has been broken....even if he did catch this little beauty as it entered the canal. I told him I didn't want trout, I wanted a salmon for dinner, now get back out there........while I make you a cup of tea, darling! Ungrateful sod aren't I?

Salmon is wonderful - but surely trout is just as nice. Especially smoke trout - yum!

Hi Jenny, I have a love/hate thing going with both salmon and trout- I don't like a wet fish and I find salmon is quite often too wet after being cooked, and yet I love sashimi-ed salmon, go figure. I love smoked trout, if it's well done, again I don't like it too wet. This time I wanted a salmon just because he hasn't caught one yet and there's not too many places to catch one. As it was we had kind neighbors who gave us some of their salmon so we had that for dinner last night and we still have the trout to smoke today! So I can't complain can I.
DeleteNice catch!
